I had Moe's today, and finally tried their tofu (first time trying tofu at all) Super underwhelming would not willingly eat again

veganconfessions:

hmmm… i’ve never heard of moe’s, but i’m assuming it’s a food chain? usually, american-prepared tofu is really gross. a lot of asian cuisines have amazing tofu dishes, so i’d recommend you try that before you throw tofu to the curb! it can be a great source of protein if you don’t have a soy allergy/intolerance, and it’s fun to prepare at home.

protip: if you want to make flavorful tofu at home, press the tofu first to get rid of the extra water and then you can marinate it with your preferred seasonings and it soaks up the flavor. not underwhelming at all. if y’all want a tutorial or something, i can throw something together :)

As an insider tip, go in when they are not busy(this key) and ask them to cook a new serving in the steak sauce(100% vegan and made in house) and then ask them to put the weight on it they use for their version of a crunch wrap. You *will* not be disappointed
